New Massage Studio Location!
Aries season brings swift change and letting go
I could say that it’s been a wild ride thus far, but I don’t think I need to. I am excited for spring, movement, shedding old patterns like being too hard on myself and perfectionism, heavily decluttering and rearranging my house, and gaining some much needed energy after such an intense winter season. I love taking action. And Aries season brings it. With my moon in Aries in my 4th house of family and foundations, I am clearing out what I need to let go of and simultaneously feeling much more rooted in my home and relationships. I feel very invigorated this eclipse season to keep moving forward.

Massage News
Please join me in my new space starting this week. The time has come for me to separate my home from my massage practice, so I have signed a year lease on an office located in Old West Lawrence on the corner of 9th and Mississippi. It offers ample space, quiet & privacy, an attached private bathroom, free parking lot, and an elevator. I have a few loose ends to tie up, but the new space is mostly ready and I am looking forward to taking all future appointments there! So yes, if you have already booked a massage with me, you will now be coming to the new location rather than my home.
I recently went foraging for cottonwood buds with my friend Laurel of Treeline Creations. I have a beautiful massage oil and Balm of Gilead in the works from them. Cottonwood buds are excellent as a healing skincare and for pain. I also have a calendula oil in a blend of organic sunflower, grapeseed, rice bran & avocado oils ready to soothe and brighten dull winter skin. This blend soaks into the skin nicely, and is a bit drier than what I usually work with.
My massage hours will be changing a bit with the Lawrence Farmers Market starting back up. As of mid-May, I will switch out Saturday’s for Sunday’s. I have had to make the decision to let go of some evening hours at Mud & Lotus in the near future in order to accommodate my home life and personal needs, but I will still be there two shifts per week on Wednesday & Friday.
Parking lot is to the north of the building. Please note that the city will be doing a 9th Street Improvement project for quite some time. The free parking lot will not be impacted, but you will need to enter from the north or the west. I don’t see this as posing a problem, but do want you to be aware so as to not get discouraged. The building itself is very quiet. Construction is a nuisance, but zigzagging thru Old West Lawrence can be fun!
Please consider sharing my information if you know anyone looking to book a massage. I am eager to start building out my practice again, and am particularly looking into working within the retreat community, special events, and with those who are processing grief. I have a couple of new trainings coming up this year and am looking forward to seeing how I can further my offerings to you.
I have had some friends and clients reach out about Astrocartography, so I thought it would be fun to explore helping you get started on that journey. I have created a new Complimentary Astro Mapping Service that you can book online.
Ever wondered how to get started with Locational Astrology? I wholeheartedly believe this is a fun and energizing way to explore where you could and should go, even if only to obtain the benefits remotely. Let me give you a free 30 minute session to get started, and I’ll include a cheat sheet at the end including contact information on professionals if you’d like to take it further.
Bees & Honey / Market
We are unsure what date we will officially be starting up at the market yet, as it depends on when the honey starts flowing again. We anticipate this to be late April. We have, however, already started to see the pollen stores! After such a brutal winter, we are very excited to see that color. Yet, after visiting all the out yards (other properties we have bees on), we have deemed a total loss of about 35%. Yes, a bit of a bummer, but we are hoping to start catching swarms here soon, and the remainder of our bees seems active and eager.
I’m interested in know if there was any products in particular you liked from this past holiday market season. So far, the facial serums and soap seem to be a huge hit, as well as the Dreaming with Bees Salve and Tincture. Now that we are entering a new market season, I need to refine what I am making/turning out. All feedback appreciated!
I had the privilege of meeting a trained Melissae recently. I really never thought I would in the Midwest, as most of the women I am familiar with who have explored this path are international or coastal. It lit a fire in me. It made me eager to revisit the ways in which we can hold space for ourselves and others in the liminal. I hold these moments dear and close and am grateful to believe in the wonders beyond the veil of what we can see and touch. That is the fire that keeps me going.
What keeps your fire lit?
Please note that I have updated the reminder text notifications to be sent out 48 hours prior to your massage appointments, rather than 24 hours. Aside from illness, inclement weather and other emergencies, my cancellation policy is 24 hours, so I hope this helps and is a more efficient method of communication for you.
